Check CHMOD Before Updating! (1 post)

One problem with the new auto-upgrade thing: it seems to start overwriting files before checking to make sure that critical files are available to overwrite. I had set my /themes directory CHMOD so files there could not be accidentally overwritten, and when I did the auto upgrade thing, it bailed out when it found it couldn't overwrite these files. As a result, I ended up with an inoperable site until I copied over the new 2.8.1 files via FTP.

Would be nice if, prior to doing the actual upgrade, the system could check for file permissions and warn the Admin. If nothing else, a quick note on the upgrade page would be helpful. Just as a reminder.
