wp-config question (3 posts)

After some domain management and moving around, I couldn't login to my wp-admin. A quick google told me it was down to the wp-config file. Which I then amended. However, it did not fix the problem (which was down to an IP issue and now resolved). Things are now running slightly wrong on my dev blog - the sitewide tags doesn't work, and the site thinks it is running subdomains, when it should be running subdirectories.

    Can I amend this?

or can I delete the wp-config file, and go to the blog and recreate it? Will this overwrite my database?

My experience in messing around with non-live blogs is that you can kill the wp-config file and let WPMU recreate it (entering the same database info) with no ill effects to your database. That being said, be sure to back up first.

"and the site thinks it is running subdomains, when it should be running subdirectories"

Check in the config for the line VHOST. For subdomains, its yes, for subdirectories, it should be no.
