Create a configuration file loop when installing (3 posts)

I am setting up a new WPMU install on a Hostgator.com account. I have uploaded all the files, and made sure I didn't edit the config file.

When I load the index page darbyfoster.com/index.php, I get the error "There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started." with a button that says "Create a Configuration File"

When I click on that button, it just re-loads the index.php page and gives me the same error.

I don't have a .htaccess file or wp-config.php file in the directory. I couldn't find any info on this error in the docs or forums. Please let me know what I am missing.

It's still finding one somewhere on the server.

This is the link I keep giving everyone to fix it:

    Andrea you rock!

Thanks, this fixed it. We have some work to do to play with this and migrate two other sites into wpmu, but this was perfect.

    Thanks for the help.
