I'm trying to add the "meta" widget to a blog I'm running, but whenever I try the little spinner spins forever. Clicking save results in the aforementioned error page.

I'm running WordPress MU 2.8.4. I need help with this badly.

I tried deactivating all the plugins, but it did nothing.

I'm having this same problem. I noticed it when I tried to add the Links widget to the right sidebar. In Safari, I get the "Are you sure you want to do this?" error. In Firefox, nothing happens. The Save button doesn't work.

Like atomicthumbs' experience, the problem seems sporadic. Widgets are working now, but for how long? I don't know.

Anybody check their error logs to see if there was anything related?

    There's nothing in the logs.

I'm beginning to think this problem is browser related, but I don't have any confirmation. Sometimes I can use a different browser to edit widgets.
