   Hello:

   Anyone please help me in understanding the concept of WPMU vs. WP. Thanks in advance. My understanding of WPMU is something like this so far:

   We can create multiple sites, ie, different TLD domains, different Content for each domains, Different design for each domains only via using one single installation of WPMU with single Admin interface to manage all those sites.

   Am i wrong ? If I am right, can anyone show me one good example of WPMU site?

   Wordpress.com.

   you'd be setting up something like that.

   You can do all that, just not right out of the box. Out of the box, you're talking a single domain with either subdirectories or subdomains. But, if you use Andrea's great domain mapping plugin, then yes, you can use one admin interface to deal with multiple domains.

   For example, http://wpmututorails.com is a blog on WPMU. So is http://ronandandrea.com.

   I need to login to each of those to post, but I can use the same login, and there's only one set of files on the server.

   and largely thanks to ron & andrea's multi site plugin.
   (which varies from domain mapping...
   i'll be able to explain by showing links to the three sites/domains later on)

   took a little longer than i expected to migrate all of these blogs' content but here we go -- five blogs spanning two top level domains, in subdirectories. again, all made possible with the ra-sites plugin from ronandandrea ( http://wpmututorials.com/simple-multi-site-plugin-e-book/ )

   http://blogs.philadelphiaweekly.com/music/

   and blogs.southphillyreview.com coming soon

   all on the same instance of wordpress mu (we were fearing we'd have to maintain three instances of mu, but nope! ra-sites plugin works GREAT.)
