    Hello,

I just installed wordpress-mu 2.8.4a with an installation type "subdirectories".

It is ok, I can access the home page but when I click "Connexion" (in IE or firefox) and I enter the login / password admin (given during installation) I am automatically redirected to the same page.
And oddly in Safari I have no problem ....

When I put a wrong password for the admin user, I have the following message appears:
"ERROR: the field of the password is blank.
ERROR: Cookies are blocked or are not recognized your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress. "

I have seen various posts about this but nothing has solved my problem.

    Someone has an idea?

    Thank you in advance

If it works in Safari, there must be an issue with the other browsers. Try clearing the cookies of ie and firefox and see if that helps.

    Thank you for your reply.
Deleting cookies from IE does not solve the problem.
I can't put Safari as a browser because people who will manage, edit the site have default ie.

We've seen that issue with very short domain names before - like xx.nn. If so, it's an IE "feature" that it won't set cookies for a domain like that. Is that your case?

No it's not my case, I've seen this post.
To access wordpress mu I use the following path:
    http://domain/site/wordpress-mu
    ...
