Is it possible to upgrade from Standard WP on an existing site to MU rather than starting a new blog from scratch? Would love to not have to start all over.

Export from the WP, Import it into MU. It's under the Tools menu item.

Posted 2 years ago #I have my current WP on a subdomain. If I install WPMU to the main domain, can I import from the subdomain, and, if so, where will the new version be? In the main domain or on a subdomain? Will it use it's current database or incorporate it into a bigger database?
Is there a FAQ or something with this information? I didn't see one.

Yes

It depends what option you pick on instalation - subdomains or subfolders off the main domain.

It moves everything into the one databse that MU uses.
If you want to replace a single WP install and have it use the same subdomain, you will, at some point, have to remove it.
