Various problems,,,,,,It seems to be general problem with permissions or something, I have browsed around this forum. And are geteting really feed up with MU. It seems to be a nice CMS, but a lot of feutures does not work first the multisite did not work well at all....I can olnly log in on my other sites (except my main one) unless if I use Google chrome browser. The tempaltes automatic installer I had to change the folder permission to 777 to get it to work. The automatic updater does not work it just states unable to copy files installation fails...I have looked at the forum here and it has been the same issue in other versions but the solution does not aply to this versions since the code string they want me to add is already in this version. The CMS seems nice but I am starting to doubt if it is worth the time....I have used Joomla, Mambo and Mura CMS (former Sava CMS) before. All with pros and cons.

Is the 2.8.4a a broken version and I should start from scratch with the new one?

Is there any specific folder or files I need to alter the permissions for? and in that case what?

Thankful if I could get some help,,,would like to make some effort with MU.

    2.8.5.2 is the current version.

Although to be honest, people using SINGLE WP have had issues with the automated plugin & themes installer because of their server setup.

I reinstalled to the latest version of MU, howver have the a lot of the same problems....I have managed to get the templates to be installed through SSH2 after a lot of tweeking.

Using the multi-site-manager and still can only log in to my extra domains if I use google chrome....is there a better alternative to this....I have a lot of differnt domains that I have with differnet content and just want to have one simple way to adminster them. The only real good CMS I used so far for this have been Sava (or Mura) as it is called now. But then I need to install a coldfusion server wich I prefer to not do, and I heard a lot of Wordpress mu,,,,is there an easy way to administer multiple domains (with differnt content)?

Can you explain how you want or expect it to work? Then maybe we can sort it out.

Well first of all I would like the backend to work regardless of webrowser. Preferably I would like be able to admin them from the same admin and not have to log in on another backend.

In mu, to admin a particular blog, you have to be in the backend fo the blog for most tasks. Like posting, for example. There is a few things you can change from the Site Admin -Blogs - Edit area.

As for different browsers, I use my own multi-site plugin, have various users with different browsers and it just works.

Click on my name, it's over there.
