Let me know if my question isn't following protocol somehow.

I'm looking to understand the logic behind the cron (option_name) entries in the wp_1_options table. Is there a correlation to the number of user accounts or number of posts published? other?

In my dev env, I only have 1 but in qa & prod environments I have 20 (cron) entries in the options table & the option_id value starts off pretty sequential between 1 - 100 then it jumps all over the place. This could be just how the auto_increment logic is built in here?
