Adding and moving fields around in User Profile form (1 post)

So, I need to collect some more user data in the user profile form (profile.php) e.g. Address, Postcode, inside leg measurement etc.

I've seen several useful plugins that allow me to add extra fields (WP User Manager, Extended User Profile as well as Justin Tadlocks great manual description.

BUT, all these custom fields always appear at the bottom of the form underneath the standard WP fields. There appears to be no way of moving around the default fields (first name, last name, email etc) so that everything flows in a more logical order.

If you want to add an Address field, most people would expect it to be directly underneath the First/Lastname fields for instance not right at the bottom.

Does anyone know of a way of doing this without hacking at the core code?
