WordPress MU

I added a 2nd sidebar to my theme files following the instructions here http://www.blogohblog.com/adding-extra-sidebar-to-your-wordpress-theme/ and here http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_sidebar.

Both sidebars show in both the live site and in the widget control panel. Problem is - I've added widgets to each sidebar via dashboard, but the live site still shows two empty, widget-free sidebars with the text:

Please log in and add widgets to this sidebar. Add Widgets

What could I be doing wrong?

I am using the BuddyPress fun theme if that helps.

That is a premium theme. The theme authors should give free support for their themes via their forums - http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/
