WP MU as a backend solution (2 posts)

    hi,

I am a huge fan of WordPress though onyly started using it last September.

I have just been given a project by a charity to build a new CMS site with a backend for multiple users, primarily for contact sharing. Each project the charity does involves a collaboration of various people and each time the people included is different. The charity (for privacy reasons) wants people to only be able to see other people who have worked on the same project as each other.

I am sure a simple WP CRM plugin might work though I think the charity would really like the extra features that BuddyPress would give as a bonus.

I am thinking that WP MU combined with Buddy Press may do the job. Any thoughts?

You;re on the right track, yes. :)

While you can assign various members of the entire site to their own blogs (separating usergroups, sort of) BuddyPress encompasses everyone on the entire site. But you could just instruct them to their own groups as well.
