Flickr oEmbed max image size 500 pixels? (3 posts)

I've been playing with oEmbed in WP 2.9 and have run into something and am not sure if it is a WP thing or a Flickr thing.

When I embed a Flickr image using oEmbed, it seems like the max width of an image I get back from Flickr is 500 pixels, no larger.

I've checked my media settings and have left the oEmbed max width value blank.

Has anyone else run into this trying to embed images from Flickr? Is there a maximum width of 500 pixels set somewhere and, if so, can this be overridden?

    Thanks

An oEmbed response, such as that from Flickr, specifies the image height and width. Look at the "Quick Example" on the oEmbed site.

Thanks for that. Found this on the Flickr API forums. Looks like 500 px might be the max that Flickr returns with the response.
