Ok I tried setting the Dashboard blog to serve as...well I don't know why! A couple months back, I was just reading a post somewhere about the dashboard setting in MU and what it was for. I went through with setting the option....
Now, I don't want it...I'd like to have all users back on the main site. Sidenote, it causes Buddypress to assign members to dashboard.blog.com/?s=membername on bp pages resulting in not found.
What's an easy way to revert this back to the way it was.
what is a good use for that dasboard option by the way
the dashboard blog option is only meant for a place where users can login to the *backend* and adjust their profile if they do not have a blog.
You have BuddyPress. users do it on the frontend.
If you go back to the site admin -> Options page, just tell it to use a blog called "dashboard" again.
And keep in mind the dashboard blog will never have a front side.

andrea, thanks for the clarification. sounds like i don't need it then.
so to get the users assigned back to the main blog after they've imported to the dashboard blog once already, I just "go back to the site admin -> Options page, just tell it to use a blog called "dashboard" again."
this will assign the dashboard users back to the main site?
no, that will assign them to the "dashboard"blog. ;)
hang on...
"Leave blank for the main site. "
That clear things up? :)

hm yes. thanks i guess it would be that simple. I was just concerned where all users would end up being assigned.
