Can someone tell me what is supposed to be inside the \wp-content\blogs.dir folder? Should I see blog content in there?

No, it's for files that the user has uploaded. Blog content is stored in the database.

Thank you for the prompt reponse. Can you shed any light on why my initial admin blog looks and functions as it should, but my other blogs that are accessed via a sub-directory are missing the stylesheet and throw an internal server error when I click on some of the links?

For example, http://triton.cowetaschools.net works fine but http://triton.cowetaschools.net/blog1 looks as if it can't find the stylesheet linked to the page. Both of these on a private network and not on the Internet.

I get this error from Apache:

"[Wed Nov 08 13:27:01 2006] [error] [client 10.1.4.138] mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use 'RewriteOptions MaxRedirects' to increase the limit if neccessary., referer: http://triton.cowetaschools.net/blog1"

On http://triton.cowetaschools.net/blog1 , check the source of the page and near the top, look at the stylesheet URL. Since, I can't see it, I don't know at the moment. :)

It could be somehting like it just doesn't like the subdirs off a subdomain, but again, just a guess.

Here's the link from the source:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://triton.cowetaschools.net/blog1/wp-content/themes/default/style.css"

What I don't understand is why I can't find this path anywhere. I don't see it under my Wordpress installation located at C:\wpmu or in any of the database tables. From looking at the source, I would expect to see c:\wpmu\blog1\wp-content\themes\default\styles.css but I don't see it anywhere.

How would one need to run Wordpress if I can't run it under http://triton.cowetaschools.net?

On the server, the theme files should physically be located at http://triton.cowetaschools.net/wp-content/themes/default/style.css
    or
    c:\wpmu\wp-content\themes\default\styles.css

MU is supposed to stuff the /blog1/ in the right space automagically. All users share the themes and all other files.

Maybe you've typed something in incorrectly on install, not sure.

At this point, I wouldn't disagree with you about me typing something in incorrectly on install. It's just that it's such a straight forward process.

I just browse to the site, run the installation, and it works with no errors or anything.

Is it possible something is up with my .htaccess file?

By the way, the stylesheet is where you said it should be - c:\wpmu\wp-content\themes\default\styles.css

Does the following error message indicate anything?

[Wed Nov 08 13:27:01 2006] [error] [client 10.1.4.138] mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use 'RewriteOptions MaxRedirects' to increase the limit if neccessary., referer: http://triton.cowetaschools.net/blog1
