Install Mu in root is the answer :)
You seriously don't want to mess with htaccess for something as mad as Mu. Just use your home theme to show whatever you got in your current index.php
I think what they're referring to is that when you look at a category link, it links to:
domain/blog/category/%category%/
Similar to the usual /category/... default of WP, but it adds /blog before /category.
I'm sure there's a reason behind it, but I can't say for sure what.
I know you can make an edit for a standard WP install, which removes the default /category, but I'm not sure if the same logic can be applied to WPMU.
If it can, without incident, it would require modification of a core file which would be at your discretion.
I think your question was already answered here: http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2465&replies=4
right? is that what you are looking for?
not quite .......
It's something like , I have my blogs here:
user.domain.com/blogs
so if someone want to see a blog , must type by force all the user.domain.com/blogs/ , and I would like redirect from user.domain.com to all the patch..
do I explain myself well??, 'cos really my English sucks.. jejeje
So what you're saying, is that you don't see a site at
user.domain.tld,
at all?
Sounds like MU is installed in domain.tld/blogs, which would be why.
Unless you're referring to the links generated in the category list.
Yes my MU instalation is in user.domain.com/blogs
soy its a form to make user.domain.com the url for all user redirecting from /blogs??
Why not just move MU up to the root directory?
Problem solved.
yes I think that too... which are the steps to move MU without having problems. I will appreciate the help
Thanks
If you have a lot of users, it's going to be time consuming.
Hopefully, you didn't specify your main MU site as a subdomain, like blogs.domain.tld for example.
Essentially, you'll need to find any instance of
user.domain.com/blogs, and change it to user.domain.com, and also, there are a few places where it has the domain and path. Make sure the path is "/", and not "/blogs". No quotes, of course.
If it's a brand new install, without users yet, just dump it and reinstall it. It would be much easier.
However, take into account that if you do already have a lot of users, the url they've been listing/using to get to their site is now going to change.
lunabyte, I really try everything and all is a mess when I try to move from /blogs/ to root.
Must be a easy way to do this.
