Did you install it to just plain old localhost? Then that's why. Use localhost.something.

    Easiest thing:

use 127.0.0.1, instead of the actual word localhost.

It works fine for testing purposes like that. Unless you want to try sub-domains and such, then that's a whole different topic.

    Andrea,
Please explain more. Did you mean actually name it 'localhost.something'

I have 'localhost' also. When I get the activation email, and I click on the link to activate, I get sent to some porn redirect.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    well lunabyte !!!!
thing is that i was not able to install mu on localhost, it asked me to setup virtual host type thing and then tried to install. so i setup a domain named "wp" and installed. now i am sorry to say that i didnt understand actually what u said of using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost because there is no localhost at all !!!

hey guys, what does that mean to use 127.0.0.1. we cant use that directly as we have to setup a virtual host, and once a virtual host is set up, we have to use that virtual host. then there is no localhost, no 127.0.0.1.

pls tell. what is that ???
