Hi, is it possible to move hosted blogs from http://mydomain.com to http://mydoamin.com/blogs/ within the same install and without causing a huge upset (ie. loss of data, etc)?

"One" solution would to be to export your database for your original blog. Then upload and install your new blog in the new location. Then Import your sql tables into the new installation, over writing your new install with the saved .sql file.
There are various ways to achieve whats outlined above depending on your level of comfort with phpmyadmin.

Aaaaaaand then he'd have to change a bunch of links. Search & replace in phpmyadmin should do it though.

some urls, domains etc. are stored in the db tables. I don't think you'll get away with it with just phpmyadmin, you'll probably need a php loop through the various blogs tables (there are some non relative urls in the blog-specific options table for instance).
