I want to make a new release - a bugfixed 1.1, but I want your feedback. Besides the bugs in Trac are there any outstanding bugs I should look at before tagging the new release?
I'd like to do it this evening in about 4 hours time. Sorry for the short notice :)

I don't want to hear about enhancements, or suggestions to make things better. I want to hear that every time you made a blog post it got warped in some weird way, or something like that.

Anything that will take too long will be put on the long finger, but hopefully I can squash some more bugs today!

This thread about wp-comments.php came up last night. Granted it's a WP core file, but might be something to tail for a bit.

Most everything else is in trac I think, at least that I've read that was an actual bug.

I'm having an issue with the cache. Let me make a ticket about it.

And I was just going for coffee....

While I'm digging into my logs, can I get you to review the http://com/mydomain issue?

Also a reply to teh question I raised within this thread would be great:

The cache issue is no longer being reported in my error logs. Maybe it got fixed in the last update.

Still getting the /wp-includes/js/scriptaculous/wp-slider.js (and other files) errors though. I note we have the slider.js file in there. Maybe I'll just copy them over and rename them.

The http://com/mydomain issue is a great one to look into. Other than that and whatever's left in trac, I think you might be all caught up. :)

By the way, who's this Donncha guy? The name sounds familiar but seems like he isn't around much here in the forums.

    ;)

Back end blog creation causes the table not found errors:

Ooooo.... better be careful there Doc.

Next thing you know, there would be a mysterious function buried in the core somewhere.

    if ( $username == 'drmike') {
    DROP DATABASE
    }

    he he he.

Then they wouldn't have anyone in the wp.com forums. :)

Or on the front page of wp.com. :)

So, what happened to 4 hours? Donncha must be busy.

Was very busy. Family emergency which turned out to be a false alarm but doing a release of software at 10pm on a Friday evening isn't exactly the wisest thing to do so I'll release today.

I won't be able to get to all those bugs for this release. There simply isn't enough time but I'll do my best.

    Awwww, why not?

I did one on Christmas Eve once. Granted it was an alpha, and I paid for it, but the forums went nuts. :D

Glad to hear all is well though, and considering there were only a few open tickets in trac last I looked (a couple of which won't see light for a while), I'd say you're in like Flynt.

    Not a problem. :)

Heck, I've released stuff on Christmas Day in the past but family is family.

Donncha, can you update the main download page when 1.1.1 is out? I wonder how many people are still in the dark about 1.1

    Looking forward to it!

Back end blog / user creation with no errors would be great!

There was another "big" issue but for the life of me, I can't think of it.

I can't either. The backend blog creation, and the domains ending up as "tld/domain/" or whatever are the only ones off the top of my head.

Although I'm wondering about the "username" option. Like when a user doesn't get a blog. Can they be added as a subscriber to the main site so that they can at least change their password?

    Ticket #253

I won't do anything about what happens to users because that's a bigger issue. We probably need a profile page like that on wordpress.com
I'll see about the create blog problem.

Hmm, I tried creating blogs and users from the backend and didn't see any error messages:
    1. new blog, existing user
    2. new blog, new user
    3. new user

This is on my test server, VHOST is off.

Strange. It seems to be intermittent, but I couldn't tell you based on what existing conditions. It is a fairly common thing though, but I haven't reproduced it either, yet, and that's on 4 different boxes ranging from php 4.3.3 and mysql 3.23, up to the latest php and mysql 5.x.

All are apache 1.3.33+, and I don't have an A2 install to really play with yet. When I pick up a new dev box (MacPro, once the dual quad core's are in it), I'll put Apache 2 on that.

But... it's got to be something somewhere, on occasion. Might be a shared hosting problem somewhere, but sometimes getting decent environment information is like pulling teeth.

If you check the download page now, you'll download the new 1.1.1 release. I'll announce it on my blog later, I'm in the middle of something else right now!

well, any information about the upgrade would be very great !
Did we just have to put the copy paste the new version in our mu 1.0 folder and replace the old files ?

    Pretty much.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

Only difference would be the location of the upgrade script. Dashboard -> Site Admin -> Upgrade

Most of us here are working of nightlies.
