    hello,

I have spent some hours looking for plugins that play mp3s and have found several. BUT I have one question regarding the general technique:

most players I found do play local mp3s, some even do play remote mp3s but I was wondering if there is a plugin that allows me to play a stream of a webradio on my blog.

I found something similar, a webservices, that lets you pick from songs they do offer, make a playlist and show the player (with their adsense adds) on your blog via a widget, but it is slow, and on several of my tests was not working, so I was wondering if tehre is a way to take a internet radio stream and let my visitors listen to it? maybe even switch between several radio stations?

hmm, that's an interesting one. Can't that pixel audio player plugin do streaming? I thought it could.

i'm actually using this one on my blogs:
    http://www.feedplayer.com/

actually it auto-plays the podcast feed of each of my /blogs, obviously you can change it to your desired podcast station.

    check out how it works:

there are several other players similar to that one, here's a nice list:

    ok, thx.

I started playing around with all those players, and I am still confused. The first one you suggested needs an RSS containing valid mp3s... what I need support for are the usual online radio streams, something like: http://www.einslive.de/multimedia/livestream_popup/player_stream_mp3.html which you can open with your local player because all I did find so far are lists of webradios that broadcast in this format. Does anyone have a list with radios broadcasting with RSS feeds? All I can find regarding RSS feeds and mp3 are podcasts, which means I choose some podcasts make a list and you can listen to them on my site, but they are never going to change, right?

Maybe what I am looking for is not possible? I mean you know all these webradios, - you either listen online or they give you a "link" which you open with your local player => can this be done online? Take the above link as an example, I can't seem to be able to figure it out.

    mmmm...

You could try to find something to convert your podcast xml feed into an .m3u file (i've quickly asked google , you should find it somewhere). Once you have an .m3u playlist catching your feed you can embed a player or direclty provide the .m3u file for your users players as shown in the link you provided. I *suppose* you could also add multiple podcasts in a single m3u file. hope it helped.

    sorry I don't understand this:

the example link I gave above is actually a .m3u file so that should play in a player you say. I had a look at feedplayer you suggested, but that one needs a feed, so it woudl rather be the other way round, concerting a m3u file into a feed!?

So looking through your other players, I did not find anyone that plays a m3u file...

and btw. all I want to do is give my readers something to listen ;-) without uploading and having to take care of DMR and licenses... just planning to integrate a "web radio" player so ppl. can actually listen to a webradio while browsing my site.
