primary_blog stuck on blog 1 for new blogs (7 posts)

There's something odd about the database usermeta table, primary_blog, when I added blog to users without blog.

First, a user is created at sign-up without a blog(no gimmee a blog).

When I then give a user a blog, their first/only, the primary_blog usermeta still shows blog 1. Even though the blog list(wpmu-blogs.php) shows only their new blog.

I'd enter it at trac but would like to see someone else duplicate what I see.

    (Version 1.2.4 btw)

I just tried the same on a new 1.2.5a install and same result.

New User(no gimmee blog on signup) gets primary_blog 1, as expected, but are stuck with it after SiteAdmin manually creates then adds them to their first blog via wpmu-blogs.php.

All I could do was edit the primary_blog meta key with phpmyadmin to set their primary_blog to their only active blog.

    This must be a bug.

Just in time for the holiday season..., and just what the doctor ordered.

It seems to be an empty anchor tag now. Gee, real nice.
the link was to one of Andrew's plugins on WPMUDEV.

    http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/Primary-Blog-Switcher

"Places a drop down on the profile page to allow a user to select their primary blog."

Quite the handy little gadget to have on a picnic.

    Thanks, Lunabyte.

Any ideas about the code that needs a fixin' from wpmu-blogs.php?

    Unfortunately, not at the moment.

On one site I had allowed a user to grab a second blog, and until then it really hadn't been a concern. So I grabbed that plugin and all was well. That being the case, I didn't dig any deeper into it at the time as I had other pressing matters to attend to.
