Integrating with my CMS (6 posts)

I have a CMS of my own creation which has a user table populated by about 2000 or so users.

I want to give the all the ability to start their own blog.

I want to have the current CMS login be the global login for the site.

I don't want to create blogs for people who will not use them so I need to make a "create new blog" mechanism from within the users profile.

I also have "BuddyLists" within my CMS. I will later want to make it so that all user will see their friend's blogs (or excerpts of) on their home pages.

Has anyone done anything similar to this that can offer me some tips to get started?

I would also like to make it so a user has to be logged in, in order to comment.

However, I don't want to give a user a blog of their own just to give the the ability to comment.
