Is there a way to disable sections when logged in? (2 posts)

Hey there, I've been trying to make a website using Wordpress for a friend of mine that's fairly computer-illiterate..

Anyways, because he still wants to be able to edit JUST the pages on his own, I figured to change his account type (editor/contributor/etc) to something that disables most of the sections shown at the top when you log in to Wordpress (Dashboard, Write, Manage, etc). However, no matter what account type I change him to, there's still a lot of sections that he really doesn't need. I've looked around trying to figure out what to do, but came up empty-handed :P

Basically in a nutshell: is there any way to disable all the sections but Write and Manage at the top for a certain account type so that he can just focus on those two sections?

    Thanks! :)

you could try the role manager plugin:

and then you can fine tune his privileges.
