So how does WordPress MU handle blogs on subdomains if I also have some subdomains in use for other things?

Example, my MU installation and dailytestimony.net is great it alows people to get blogs at whatevertheywant.dailytestimony.net but I also have a second MU installation for testing new features and hacks before going live on my site at area51.dailytestimony.net, not that it will likley happen but I am kinda woundering how WordPress MU would handle someone trying to create a blog at area51.dailytestimony.net, will I have to tell MU not to allow that url?

i'd login to the dashboard, under site admin, options

set area51 up as a "Banned Names"

Also, the other virtual hosts in apache (for the individual subdomain not in MU) will have to come before the mu virtual host.

Reason being, apache hits on the first thing it finds, then routes accordingly.

So, if your MU install is listed first (which tells apache it will answer for any subdomain, aka: wildcard) then that's what it uses.
