New Plugin: Vote 2 Publish! (24 posts)

Hi there. Ive just made a new plugin calles vote2publish and wondering where is the ideal place to publish it.. isnt there an "offial" repository like the plugin directory we have for wordpress?

Vote2Publish allows you to define a "main blog", and then displays a vote box in every post of every other blog in the community.

When a post gets a certain number of votes its automatically republished in the "main blog", preserving the original author and adding a note on the top of it with a link to where it was originally posted.

    The voting process is ajaxed.

Each blog owner can customize the vote box to match to his/her theme.. or even choose not to display it.

    Its also localization ready.

    cheers

@leogermani: just upload it to the normal wordpress plugins repository, and tag it wpmu. much nicer than wpmudev, with very helpful features for yourself and your users.

Why not upload it to *both* plugins places? More exposure for ya, you don't have to pick between them.

(and has anyone checked to see if this has been done?)

    finally:

just published it here (it will take some minutes to appear)

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vote2publish/

Note it is the very first release, so download it if you want to test and maybe find some problems! I didnt set up a page for it yet, so feedback please here or in the wordpress.org forums.

    It will require this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-xajax/

Have a look also in thes two others releases:

    Repost
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/repost/
A nice interface for republishing content from blogs in the community (inspired by reblog)

    One Click Republish
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/one-click-republish/
yet another nice way to republish content from other blogs in the community

do I get this right, only logged in users are allowed to vote via vote 2 publish plugin?

also I got problems with the repost plugin... if I try to subscribe to a blog, I get this error in firebug:

    xajax_repost_subscribeToBlog is not defined
    h**p://zice.ro/wp-admin/edit.php?page=repost.php
    Line 1

    the line in wp-xajax.php reads:
    $xajax->registerFunction("repostsubscribeToBlog");

    if I change it to
    $xajax->registerFunction("repost_subscribeToBlog");

the error disappears but still nothing happens (it still does not get added to the subscribed blog list)

IT is possible, this error is due to the fact that I am still on wpmu 1.3.3 and the plugins do state they need 1.5 just wanted to confirm this is the problem...

So glad to see this! One question, just want to confirm as it was super clear to me. In order for this plugin to work I understand I also need wp-xajax, but are the other two you listed (repost and one-click-publish) required, or do they just make things easier?

    Ovidiu,

yes. Only logged user can vote.

In fact, I didnt test it on wordpress 1.3.3... this could be the problem... anyone else used it.

I wonder why the underline is gone... It happen in the readme file I uploaded to worpdress svn as well..

    awarner20,

Only wp-xajax is required. The other plugins are different tools for republish content

    Hi guys,

I improved the plugins in a way you dont need to edit wp-xajax.php by hand anymore! So no coding is needed at all...

New version is already available in the plugins directory.

    cheers

    Ovidiu,

Did you follow the installation steps. Are you with the latest version of Wp-Xajax installed? and also the latest version of repost? if you are not sure, download it again.

    cheers
