Database tables not created for new blogs after upgrade to 1.5.1 (5 posts)

    Hi,

Have just upgraded from 1.2.5 to 1.5.1 on an install using sub-directories. I've tried creating new blogs from wp-signup.php and from admin pages, but in both instances new user/blog info is added to wp_users and wp_blogs tables, but the tables for the new blog are not being created.

    Any help will be appreciated,

    Michael

According to my error log wp-activate.php is looking for wp-admin/install.php and not finding it. It then looks for the new tables, but doesn't find them. I'm assuming wp-admin/install.php would set up the tables for the new user's blogs, but there's no such file in either the .zip or .tar.gz distros of 1.5.1.

Are you 100% sure that all files were upgraded?

If you're using an object cache, make sure that is upgraded too, or move it out of the way temporarily.

Double-check your config file to make sure it's still correct.

Thanks donncha, I moved the cache and it stopped looking for
wp-admin/install.php. Then it didn't like my DB_CHARSET setting in wp-config of ISO-8859-1, so I changed it to Latin1, per earlier discussion here. Registration now creates all the required database tables.

    Sorry if I overreacted.
