I have hosting with hostgator and support guys are unable to help
I have 2 domains,main is http://www.greatmarathi.com ,other is liphaha.com
Created wordpress mu setup on greatmarathi.com and then added liphapha
but parking of liphapha not working as expected for e.g. http://liphapha.com/wp-signup.php
Adding to fact i used multi site manager also
Since the rest of the site seems to be functioning OK, did you turn on signups on that particular domain?

Did you point http://liphapha.com to the IP address of greatmarathi.com?
not the ip address but whole site

You don't need whm.
Wherever you manage domains, go there. Now *park* the domain liphapha.com on top of greatmarathi.com.
Don't have a park option? If you have to use Cnames and A records, that's the area you need. Create an A record for liphapha, not a Cname. make *sure* it points to your IP address.

IP Address.

On HG try this...
From Cpanel for greatmarathi.com:
- [Park] the domain liphapha.com on greatmarathi.com
- In the [subdomain] panel add a subdomain with just a * in it. (that's all..NOTHING ELSE - you will end up with a subdomain listed as *.ofnoosa.com (public_html) - if you end up with something different you tried to be too clever...just stick a * in the box.
- [Setup redirection] to *.greatmarathi.com
(that takes care of wildcard domains.)
- Make sure the name server entry for your registrar of liphapha.com is pointing at the name server for greatmarathi.com
Fire up WPMU and your multi domain plugin, follow some extra instructions towards the middle and bottom of http://www.brilliances.com/multisite-manager-with-wordpress-mu/#comment-10233
..and off you go.

you have to email them at support@hostgator.com to enable wildcards if you havent already done this.

I'm on a resell acct and wildcards were already set.
No contact with HG needed.
Are you on a single shared hosting acct? Not sure if that is set the same.
I got the same error when I already had my second domain set up in the WHM panel. I deleted it and everything was sweet.
I just entered the * in the subdomain (nothing else) and it all worked.
Not sure why your getting an error with *.liphapha.com when all you need to try is entering * in the box (no liphapha).
Suggest you try HG forums if you are still having probs.
