switch_theme() setting a theme on account activation (2 posts)

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience using the switch_theme() function?

I'm trying to automatically activate a theme other than the default when a user activates an account.

Here's the odd thing, it works, the changes are made in the options table just fine.

The trouble is when the user views the new blog, they get a blank page (the blank screen of death apparently). When they log into their admin area and then go back everything works fine and the theme appears. Very strange.

Am I not setting something? I honestly can't see anything changing in the DB to suddenly make it work.

Never mind, turns out it was a theme issue with the index.php file. Phew! That was a nightmare to debug.
