in any blog. i can still add links to posts via HTML, but i would rather not have to show my users html just so they can post links! where do I enable this?

It would be helpful if you described what you were looking at? Are you not seeing the WYSIWYG editor? Are you seeing it? etc.
Checking the error log is also a plus if you're not seeing it. I'm sure you've already read this:
