I copied the new files from WP3.0 into the directory except wp-content. there's a new default theme called twentyten, so make sure you go grab that.

White page = errors. Did you, when you activated buddypress, change the theme to a buddypress theme? If so, deactivating the plugin before switching back the theme would cause the white screen. remove whatever

I downloaded 1.4.1 of the MU Admin Bar but I noticed it covers up the top of the page, which for the main theme used is where all the tabs are, I could easily modify the theme to leave enough empty space there
