I justed installed the WPMU on my site and got a mail from the WP system. Here is the quote:

I believe this URL are not valid. Did the same info. you guys get during the installation?
Did you install with Virtual hosts turned off?

Did you caps in your blog ID? It failed for me with a pretty obscure error when I used a cap in the new blogs ID, but its ok w/ all lowercase. (This is on FreeBSD 5.4 using the www/wordpress-mu port)

uninstall and reinstall...(Make sure you drop the database)
and run the installer at http://talkdig.com and NOT http://www.talkdig.com
