Blog Sign Up through Facebook Connect and commenting.
This would be pretty good functionality.
Anyone else interested in this kind of functionality?

That doesn't seem to work.
I have not used this, but here is the plugin page:

Also a video of it working:

Anyone tested PrefPass (http://prefpass.com/) with WPMU?
I just installed it on my wp, it works very fine

Hi Kaysha thanks for the tip. It works well on your site.
I think one of the best aspects of this plugin is that it can help prevent spam. I don't think it works for blog sign up just comments.
Kaysha, you got a good site...Is it running WPMU aswell for the t-shirt site?
any fine tutorials?
Kaysha, for me it looks like you use regular Wordpress.
I think its running regular wordpress 2.6.3,but a nice site!
friends connect can be installed easily .
It did not worked for me, it actually blocked out me from the admin site, but I use WpMU 2.6.1
My question: what should be the call back URL? And if it is different for every blog (line subdomain1.domain.com and sub2.domain.com, etc. Then how can I use it for every sub blog in Wordpress Mu?
I'm interested in this issue.
that plugin works great but it doesn't work on Wordpress MU
Could anyone help hack it so it doesn't break the login?
I'll look into it. I want to use it on my mu site to allow for blog sign ups.
Any news on this?
I made some heavy modifications to the sociable plugin and got it working on an alpha stage for Mu.
1. The modifications I made mean that no new tables are added to the database.
2. FBML (facebook mark up language) is slow and I changed the plugin to use FQL then cache and store data in the wp database, and memcached. (Plus proxied and locally cached user images)
3. Users can create a user account but fbconnect users can only set up a blog once they have created the user account. It's possible to change this functionality of course.
4. The invite friends feature is very cool.
5. Facebook Connect does not work well across browsers and can only be relied upon to work in Firefox and Ie7 although some claim Safari, Ie6, and Opera.
6. Users will only be able to sign up through one domain due to Facebooks policy, (although any sub-domain on that domain).
@honewatson.Keep us updated on the progress because I want to use it for buddypress CMS?
@honewatson,
Facebook connect works with Buddpress CMS.But can you improve it with your mod..and maybe add these
* This activity 'syncing' can be configured from the users settings page on BuddyPress, so they can turn off activity updates.
* In the same settings page, the user can choose to either use their Facebook avatar, or their BuddyPress one
* Have a page like buddpress-site.com/members/MEMBER/friends/invite, and having the ability to 'Invite your Facebook friends.

Any ideas?
Unfortunately I won't have time to continue working on this for awhile. At this stage BuddyPress doesn't really interest me.
Glad to find out that this was a known issue with this plugin.
honewatson, can you post your changes or be specific as to what you changed? I'm happy to make changes, but I'd prefer not to reinvent them?
It breaks the login on Firefox, but not IE, interestingly.
Also, I can't get the FB connect button to appear on IE despite the changes to the theme header file.
thanks, hb
@honewatson,
so you made sociable.es compatible with wordpress mu in alpha? Is it possible to get your version of the plugin?
Oh woe is me, I will forever expect
The anonymous coder to come forward with MU-Facebook Connect
Any word on Mu-Facebook Connect? This is big, I would love to help contribute!
