    Dear Admin,

    I have recently installed your Multi User Wordpress blog on my WAMP Server (supports php, mysql and apache) on a STATIC IP thus having the direct access to the internet and to my domain.

    Anyways I have a email id which requires SMTP Plain authentication to SEND THE MAILS (from the port 25) and requires username and password as well.

    I want to know that WHERE can I modify my wordpress email sending settings. Does I require to edit my php.ini file where I need to add that smtp username and port but even if I add there then too there are no options/arguments for adding username and password

    OR

    IS there some configuration file in the wordpress itself from where I can send the emails directly using that authenticated email domain.

    At the moment my default email id seems to be support@mydomainname.com.

    Please help me to configuration my smtp server details as without email the complete concept is useless to people :(

    thanks

    vibs

    "At the moment my default email id seems to be support@mydomainname.com."

    Then create that mail account.

    @andrea:

    I think the OP refers to the fact taht wpmu sends out emails by using the send mail function of php if I am not msitaken, and the OP would like to use smtp.

    there are some plugins to extend wordpress with this functionality, but I have no experience with this...

    smtp is really simple, you'll find info and a plugin here (note: for wpmu, place the plugin in mu-plugins): http://subscribe2.wordpress.com/2008/05/15/smtp-mailer/
