WordPress MU

Hi everybody,

I am trying to allow users to let comments on authors pages.
Does anyone has any idea how to do this ?
i read about posting an introductory post for every author (for their first entry on the blog) and to display only this post on the author page but since my user already started to post it seems a little bit tricky.

I'm going to say no since author's pages aren't normally created by the dashboard but built via the theme. That's just a guess though. If you build the authors pages using a Page template and create a Page via the dashboard, I;d just add the comment function to the page template. But that's different from just doing a authors page template which is probably the route your doing.

okay, can you explain how I then can keep the comments seperated for the different authors?

Hi there. I finally took the time to pack a plugin to allow users to leave comments on the author pages.
Basically it creates a new category "profile_comment" and add a unique post for every existing and new users (not only authors,so it is up to you to allow author pages for regular users too).

then by adding the right loop on author.php you can display the comment form for this unique post.

You have then to exclude the category for these introductory post in your index.php and everywhere your categories are listed.
It is explained in the README.

I tested it on WP 2.7 and it should works just fine in the mu-plugins directory of WPMU 2.7.
