    Hey there.

I've installed (and reinstalled a few times) build 2006-05-08 in the root of my domain. Installation went smoothly.
But I cant access the blogs. Admin panel works perfectly, I can create new blogs, and I can publish posts.

When I type in the url for a blog, I get thrown to the mainpage (root) with the "Login/Create new blog"

    Domain is:
    http://warcrafters.eu/

    And made a:
    http://testblog.warcrafters.eu/

Im guessing its something with the mod_rewite (I've checked that its enabled) But I dont really know where to look.
I havent asked my host about wildcard dns yet, as I see "*.warcrafters.eu 86400 IN A 212.97.132.107" in the dns configuration... and thats what it needs to say right?

I hope someone can help... Im close! I know it!

No, that's an 'A' record on the DNS side.

What you need to do is get your host to add the following to their httpd.conf file for the domain in question:

    ServerAlias *.warcrafters.eu

    Hope this helps,

    Hi drmike,
I tried to install wpmu (both 5/22 and 4/7 builds) on local machine, i added "ServerAlias *.localhost" to my httpd.conf, also enabled mod_rewrite there, run install script and got all 15 tables, but I didn't get admin password, also got an error on http://localhost/wpmu/ that says:

Notice: Undefined index: action in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\wpmu\index.php on line 458

any suggestion? or should i use the virtual directory other than virtual domain?

    thanks!

When i restarted apache, it didn't work so i guess i should not do a virtual host. so I removed "ServerAlias *.localhost" and restarted apache, the error still exist. Why it wouldn't work even for sub directory approach? thanks!
