How can I remove the Admin Bar at the top of the dashboard, etc? I do not want it at all anywhere, and in addition to that I have some overlapping menu items (see link to screenshot....at the top right of the image).

I just noticed this is only happening with Firefox....it looks fine in IE8.....
Thoughts?
Exactly the same stuff here with FF3 :(
Turning off admin bar - Settings -> Admin bar (or /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wordpress-admin-bar)
i did that worked fine, but I have now installed buddypress and it has its own bar, been asking for help there, but the answers have been insufficient, and now nobody is answering, I guess people just have to live with issues. Thsi blows.
Geez guys, they just busted their asses getting 2.7 and the next bp-beta out the door. Let Andy & Donncha breathe a bit.
understandable, but having an unusable piece of software is pointless
You can turn off the MU admin bar in wp-config.
By default, it looks like this:
// Uncomment to disable the site admin bar
//define( 'NOADMINBAR', 1 );
Uncomment, and away it goes.
I have the MU bar out of commission, its the damn BuddyPress bar that is being a pain.
Oh. That would probably be a question for that particular forum perhaps?
does anybody know how to disable the admin-bar at specific themes only??
i think that i have already asked for that, but cant find it anymore //.
