WordPress MU

I am stuck at the install/setup process. This is the error I get when I enter my blog title and my email and press submit.

WordPress database error: [Field 'category_description' doesn't have a default value]
INSERT INTO wp_1_categories (cat_ID, cat_name, category_nicename) VALUES ('0', 'Uncategorized', 'uncategorized')

Congrats! Your blog has been set up and you have been sent details of your login and password in an email."

I can see that the database was populated, but I never got any email. I am trying to set this up on my WinXp laptop w/ PHP4.4.2 and MySQL 5.0.21.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's due to the version 5 of MySQL. Using google shows an example of this error.
