    Hi all,

I've searched the forums high and low for a solution to this but I haven't found one that's clear and precise on what to do. Upon installing WordPress MU, I am not receiving the email with my password.

Are there any files that I need to modify for this to work?

I have asked my host about this and they are unable to help.

    Cheers,
    Flea

    Hi Flea,
i had the problem too. By using "Lost Password" i got the message that the user admin is unknown. With phpmyadmin i check the table wp_users of my wpmu database. As email adress for admin a string of numbers letters was in the field. I changed it to a normal email address and it works. I use the lastet nightly build.

    Best Regards

    Fugazzi

    Hi Fugazzi,

Thanks for your reply. As you can see here (http://iscool.com.au/wpmu2/index.php), WPMU seems to be partially installed. Some pages are completely missing and others are there but without the images etc (http://iscool.com.au/wpmu2/wp-login.php another example) I have uploaded all the files - everything IS there. I am aware that I named the folder wpmu2. :P

I managed to change the email as you advised, but was unable to retrieve the password as the "forgot my password" function leads to a 404 error. I also managed to create a test user, this time the email is sent with no trouble at all - however, the activation link also leads to a 404 page.

Something tells me I'm doing something very wrong during uploading/installing. Anyone have any ideas?

It's looking for the stylesheet here:
    http://iscool.com.au/wpmu2/index.php/wp-content/themes/home/style.css

Note the inclusion of index.php, which should not be in the URL for looking for the stylesheet.
Dunno if it is anythign *you* did specifically, because this should be automatic behind the scenes.

I've solved this problem by installing the 4/7/06 build. Is there any way to get rid of the /wpmu and the end of the URL? (eg http://test.iscool.com.au/wpmu/)

    Thanks,
    Flea

If you want to get rid of the /wpmu at the end, then I'd sugest to re-install MU in the root directory.
