Can anyone tell me how WPMU release 2.7 relates to WP 2.7.1?
I was just wondering: Since WPMU 2.7 was released so much later than WP 2.7, maybe it already has most or some of the fixes as WP 2.7.1?

No, it's the same as WP 2.7.
2.71 was just a bugfix release for WP. Chances are that WPMU has have some of the same bugs and that they will release a bugfix in the not too distant future.
Whatever you do, don't point that out to Donncha :)
Oh, impatient people. They whine about 2.7 taking so long, then they whine about bugs (whether real or now) and then they whine about the next bugfix release... Sheesh.
Personally, I agree with xenon2050. I think Donncha is doing a FANTASTIC job, for which I feel grateful each and every day.
So ... where is WPMU 2.7.2, anyway? Hahahahahahaha!
Best to all,
Elchanan
Thanks for the replys! This is good to know, and the reason I was asking is that we have a pretty ancient installation of WPMU, with some hacks in the core so updating the version takes a little more effort than usual. (I'm not the technical administrator myself, so I don't now just how much work exactly is involved). Anyway, we might just wait for 2.7.1 before updating.
Should really do it now rather than wait. if you have an ancient codebase, you need to get it looked after asap.
what's the word on the street? 2.7.1 this month?
WPMU 2.7.1 is the current branch. It is safe for production. http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/browser/branches/2.7 it says 2.7 but is 2.7.1 in the version number.
Not doubting anyone but the download page and the tag system are still showing only a 2.7:
yeah, 2.7.1 is not out yet for sure.
But the "branches" area in trac is NOT a release.
If you want it out faster, get bug squashing everyone. there's outstanding tickets that need fixing, and they need FEEDBACK.
But the "branches" area in trac is NOT a release.
That's why I used the "tags" subdirectory and they are listed in there by release.
This is the one I'm concerned about:

That's not the production branch. the tagged versions are the released versions.
I use branches for my production sites sometimes.
