This seems simple enough, yet I can't figure it out.

What I have is a blog called, "blogs" and I want to create separate blogs stemming from that url.

SO, what I have now is:
    http://domain.com/blogs/

    WANT to have is:
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger1
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger2
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger3....

Get the picture? I may be over looking something SUPER simple...but have yet to find it. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

When you install, right above the big boxes where you enter the db details, are two radio buttons.

By default the subdomain option is picked. Click the OTHER ONE.

I have wordpress mu installed in the root already (and set to sub directories...not sub domains)...and have /blogs/ created within my wpmu installation as it's own separate blog.

I want to create users for that blog, so they can blog on their account from /blogs/ and have it listed as...
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger1
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger2
    http://domain.com/blogs/blogger3....

    Hope that makes more sense.

    Kind of like this: http://highsnobiety.com/columns/

Then see how they have their bloggers coming from /columns/

    i.e. http://highsnobiety.com/columns/currency/

Then you have to have it installed at http://domain.com/blogs/.

The way it is now, you get http://domain.com/blogger1 etc...

Ok, so, I will need a regular wordpress install in the root, then install mu in a sub-directory called ... /blogs/ ?

Just seems/seemed like their would be an easier way, haha...

Well, what's wrong with having it like http://domain.com/blogger1 ?

no, you don't need regualr WP in the root, why do that? Just put in (if you really want the http://domain.com/blogs/ setup) an index.php, include the WP header and paste in all the main site stuff you want.

Gotta tell ya though, if you install MU in http://domain.com/blogs/, the main blog archives will be http://domain.com/blogs/blog/post1/

Andrea: Is there a way around having all blog files under the automatic "blog/" addition to the URL?

Check permalinks setting 'base' :) Play around with it (carefully).
