Reading settings are saving, but not doing what they're set to do. (7 posts)

When I change the Front Page Displays a Static Page to a static, manually updated page called "News" and click the Update button, the site still displays the most recent posts as the home page. A day ago, it was working fine, but now it's not. I have no idea where to look or what I did wrong. All I've changed are the template files (page.php, index.php, archive.php, etc.) and I have not made any major server or database config changes.

    Any advice?

*bump* Any idea why my Static Page setting isn't going into effect, even though I can clearly see that it's set? What can I check in the DB or in template or code files to find the root cause?

    Thanks.

What you open your static page in the browser?

And your error logs say what, exactly? :)

The static home page is supposed to be http://myblog.blogs.company.com/ resolving to a manually updated "News" page (long story...I wanted to use the archives page, but boss wanted manual layout control).

I had it that way for the longest time, but suddenly it switched to http://myblog.blogs.company.com/ being the archives page with the "News" page suddenly being at http://myblog.blogs.company.com/home/.

No other errors either. It just switched and won't go back. Site works fine otherwise. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Holy crap. Now it's working again. My Home page is back to being the expected "News" page. WTF?

I'll keep an eye on this and update here if it happens again...this time with more vigilance as to what could have changed.

Then your web host is changing things, or your browser caching is funky.
