    Hey all,

I have to do some modifications on a site that some other guy coded.
It's a WordPress MU 2.6.5, with an additional BBPress forum and lots of goodies.

How would you go about setting up a development environment (as I wish to develop on my own system then upload the changes)??

I mean, I'm not a WordPress noob, but I'm quite a noob at MU, and for now I haven't been able to even set up a clone of the site on my system.

    Any ideas?
    thanks.

    Tons of options:

    - set up a copy locally, work on that.
    - set up a copy on another site with a similar domain name

You could also syc either one of those with svn.

    thanks andrea,
but that's exactly what I'm having trouble accomplishing.
I tried to set up a local copy, but it didn't work out so well.
I know how to do it with WP, but couldn't get it to work with WPMU.
Can you elaborate on how to do it, or just post a link to where I can find instructions?

    Thanks Again,
    Omer.

Depends on whether you are using a PC or Mac. Search this forum for localhost, xampp, mampp etc- you'll find a lot of threads on this topic.

You might want to explain what issues you had so folks can help.
