Reinstall and manually copy mysql data in to restore blogs? (2 posts)

    Hi All,

    I have 40+ blogs and an upgraded installation that does not work. I have only 3 or 4 blogs that are critical to get back alive ASAP. Rather than scratching holes in my head trying to get the current install working and continuing with my blogs down I am wondering ...

    Will it work if I ...
    * make a fresh install of WPMU with a fresh MySQL database.
    * using WPMU to recreate all of the blogs (in the same order so they have the same blog IDs)
    * ditto for the users,
    * copy the blog posts and comments from the old database to the new database

    Any other words of advice?
