I deleted a User in Site Admin > Users. The button that executed the final Delete command was titled “Delete user and transfer posts”. What does this mean? Where do posts get transferred to?
Thank you kindly,
Taylor

It lets you select a user account to transfer the posts to.
Thank you kgraeme. So, do you know if this feature can be disabled, so that the posts can just be deleted with the user, as opposed to being transferred?
Here is something interesting I found. I was very confused by a
/wp-admin/wpmu-users.php
that, when I checked the checkbox on the left of the user and then clicked on "delete" on the top, would present me with
Transfer posts before deleting users: [delete user and transfer posts]
with no list of users to choose from... In fact, it wouldn't let me delete users there.
Instead I had to go to
/wp-admin/users.php
to get the job done. Hmm, a bit confusing, isn't it?
Yes! I'm having the same problem.
/wp-admin/wpmu-users.php shows I have 159 users. The spam users are marked as such, but what does that really do?
/wp-admin/users.php shows 48 after going though and deleting all the spam subscribers.
Sadly, the true number of subscribers is 48 and I have 111 spam subscribers.
While these spam subscribers don't have any posts that I can see, I am a little hesitant to transfer any of their posts to legitimate users. Is the ability to really delete users available in new wp updates? Currently running 2.8.4.
But, does anybody knows if the POSTS by spammers (users) , will be transfered to my admin account as in the button tell me????
The Button "Delete Users and Transfer Posts"..
... cofused topic.. ;(
If you're really that worried about it - go to the spam blog, delete all the posts first. Then delete the blog.
Well, I have 450 spammers and was also very worried that their posts were simply being transferred to legitimate blogs so, using the Blogs option I check each spam box, mark as spam and delete the blogs. Tedious, but better safe than sorry.
