    Hello the WP Mu community!

I actually have a problem, and I have no idea where it come from...

Since few months, I'm runnig WPmu perfectly in the URL: http://subdomain.webhostname.com/wp/. It worked so great!!

But now, i've activated the URL http://www.domain.com on the same server. And I've tried to install, re-install...etc WP Mu in http://www.domain.com/wp/ a lot of times, and it's not working.

This is the login page I have at the end of the installation:
    http://uploads.imagup.com/10/1241326253_picture.jpg
So we can see there is a problem!;-) And I can't log in.
I say "I can't log in", because the next page, http://domain.com/wp/wp-login.php, can't be found.

I’ve re-installed WP Mu twice today at the URL http://subdomain.webhostname.com/wp/, and still working great. (I wanted to check if i was missing something during the installation)

Do you have any ideas or suggestions? It could be great!

    Thanks!

    Gaetan

PS: I use a new database and I put "domain.com" when the install screen require it. And, I'm using the last version WP Mu 2.7.1.

    Thanks!

Is it an "add-on" domain? On some servers MU goes funky like that. Screenshot looks as if it's not finding the stylesheet.

    Thanks Andrea for your reply!

Yes, it is an add-on domain. And you are right about the styleheet. I've checked, and the styleshit is existing, strange...

So do you think the only solution is to ask my webhost for only 1 DN in my server for example?

    Have a nice w-end!

Yep, you'll need a separate account.

    Hello,

My webhost can't delete the address http://subdomain.webhostname.com/ from the server, but he gives http://www.domain.com the primary address in the server.

I've tried lot of times new installations, and it is still working on http://subdomain.webhostname.com/ but not on http://www.domain.com

Seen that they can't delete the first address that was installed (http://subdomain.webhostname.com/) on the server, I'm blocked to had WP Mu on http://www.domain.com...

    Hello!

I have some news about my WPmu installation problem!

Now, I have only 1 Domain Name on my server. http://www.domain.com/
I've tried again to install WPmu on this address: http://www.domain.com/wp/ without any success. BUT...I was searching for some clues about my problem, and I've seen an interesting post http://manojkumar.org/install-wordpress-mu-with-www/ describing how to install WPmu with "www". I've tried his second method...AND with this method it's working perfectly!!

So...it could work!!;-) What should I do or what should I ask to my webhost to do, to run WPmu as it should do: without the "www"?

    Thanks a lot!;-)

I think something must be changed in the server configuration, no?

    Or the .htaccess file?

I have really no idea why my installation is working ONLY when I force WPmu working with "www". It should work without "www" too? No?

    What do you think?;-)

    Thanks,

    Gaetan

Or maybe in the apache configuration?

So if I well understand in other posts from this forum, WPmu can be installed in a subdomain like http://subdomain.domain.com/ BUT the subdomain can't be "www". Am I right?
