Hi all,
Came in to work this morning and my main site is giving the redirect loop error: http://www.foreignpolicyblogs.com. I can't log in using /wp-admin on the main site either. However, all of the subdomains work normally (http://africa.foreignpolicyblogs.com). I tried messing with the secret salts, took a look at .htaccess, and looked through my error logs, but can't find the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dan
Did your webhost change anything? Even a minor update?
They claim not. Yesterday morning I manually edited the database to changes spaces to dashes in several usernames, and it continued working fine after that until some time in the night. I also added a maxredirects statement to httpd.conf, which seemed to work ok for several hours. I changed back the httpd.conf when I started getting the error, and restarted the server but it didn't change anything.
Any idea why foreignpolicyblogs.com/* would break, while all subdomains continue functioning normally?
I would be checking out all the main DNS records, server alias records etc..
