WordPress MU

Hi,

I wish to upload media from an external panel, which wordpress functions should I touch? Also, I would also need the function which sets the blog and post to insert into. Should I just use the set_blog_id function from the wpdb class to set the blog?

I also tried using the pop-up flash uploader of the wordpress panel but I can't seem to set the post so it just normally uploads it.

Any piece of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
