Tip for Windows users who get the 404 error on install (3 posts)

    Most Windows Apache installs I've seen have the htaccess file as htaccess.txt NOT .htaccess as WordPress creates.

    More often than not if the install works, yet all pages give you a 404 when clicked this could be the reason, simply rename .htaccess to htaccess.txt

    .htaccess here on mine. Installed with XAMPP.

    I do know what you're seeing though as I've seen this mentioned previously.

    it doesnt seem to work for me either way

    on win2003 php5 apache 2
