Plugin To Edit Individual Footer Text For End-Users? (7 posts)

Does a plugin exist to allow individual users to add/edit the text in the footers of their theme? (To allow them to list contact info etc on every page)

I don't mean an Admin plugin that forces the same footer on every MU blog, I mean allowing custom/changeable footer text to be made on individual blogs.

It doesn't need to be fancy, just simple text. Can I do it?
    Thanks in advance.

you could always use the "bio" field on the users page...

not a good way to to it. also you could add a custom field somewhere. i dont know how to do this.

    Process is the same.

If the hook into the footer code is used in the regular plugin folders, and you give users an input box in the backend, they yeah - entirely do-able.

You sure you want *contact info* in the footer? Why not in the sidebar in a text widget?

Thanks for the tip about it going in the regular plugin folder, Andrea.

So no one has actually created a plugin to edit the footer yet though? I'm not a programmer so I don't know how to do it...

You don't really edit the footer, you're mostly adding stuff to it.

I explained how to hook into it here:

Just made a simple plugin that will let users set their own footer.

    Some more info over here.
