Exporting/importing post data (3 posts)

I'm pretty new to WP & WPMU. I've been developing software for over 25 years, just new to these applications.

I have a MacBook with MAMP installed on it. And I have a domain on a webhost with WPMU installed on it. I've been working on the content of my pages (I want blogs on my site, but my primary interest right now is a number of static pages as I'm just getting the domain & web site built).

I've created a number of pages on my MacBook using the MAMP install (I replaced the default WP install on MAMP with WPMU). I have exported the content I built using the export tool. Now I want to go & import it into the WPMU running on my domain.

My problem is that I want to do this multiple times. I want to edit each page on my local machine and then export it & import it. I'm afraid I'm going to get duplicate pages if I do this. Is this OK or should I just forego the development on local idea & stick with marking up the production domain only?

    Thanks

    Tony

As far as I remember, it won't import the duplicates.

you can edit the exported file before importing to just include the new posts, or look - there's a handy-dandy new plugin to just grab the posts you want.

You're right, it just skips the existing pages.
I had to go into the MySQL manager & truncate the wp_1_posts table. Then everything came in.

    Thanks
